Visa

Please do not forget to check whether you need a visa to enter Japan. A visa is required to enter Japan for several nationalities. Please check with your local Japanese embassy/consulate  whether this applies to you. In case a visa is required, please apply as soon as possible, as obtaining the visa may take several weeks. About the invitation Letter:  Authors who need materials for visa application to enter Japan should provide the following information to Ms. Rika Mashiko. E-mail: c05rika (a) u-aizu.ac.jp

  1. Receipt(s) of your registration
  2. Copy of your passport’s page (to confirm spelling of your name and birth-date)
  3. Itinerary (dates of arrival and departure)
  4. Name of your affiliated institution and position
  5. Postal address to be sent the documents

An acknowledgement will be sent to you, and we will prepare the following documents in about one week.

  1. Invitation letter (in Japanese)
  2. English translation of the above invitation letter
  3. Letter of reason for invitation to Japan (in Japanese)
  4. Letter of guarantee (in Japanese)
  5. Itinerary (in Japanese)
