Speaker: Dr. Lei Jing, University of Aizu, Japan
Biography: Lei Jing received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from The University of Aizu Japan in 2008. Now he is the associate professor in Computer Science and Engineering Department of The University of Aizu. His research interest includes Wearable Motion Capture, 3D Tracking, and Body Area Network. He is a member of IEEE, ACM, IEICE, and IPSJ.
Abstract: Wearable motion capture method has good mobility and low cost. And many different field researchers are showing strong interest in it like healthcare, robotics, human-computer interaction, etc. But it needs multi-discipline skills to deployment a full function motion capture system. And currently, there is seldom course on this topic. The lecturer’s research group has developed a full tools chain for motion capture system, which enables us to provide such a lecture. In this lecture, the participants can learn to know the whole development process including data collection, preprocessing, storage, feature definition, and recognition through a use case like handwriting recognition (HWR) or human activity recognition (HAR). We will provide a full development tools chain to ensure an efficient learning process. We hope to take this chance to show the state of art of the wearable motion capture research to more researchers from different fields.
